Ladies and Gentlemen, I Give You...
The Tufts Power Shift 2009 Team's BLOG!
Yes that's right, we got a blog, so you can watch us as we do all sorts of crazy stuff and try to save the world the weekend of February 27.
So to start, I'll introduce myself, and I hope the other team members will do the same once they start writing.
Name and Year: Matt McGowen, LA '12.
Major: Undecided, but probably Comp Sci and Math.
What I care about that made me want to go to Power Shift (aside from the Environment Obviously.): As a Cape Cod native, the battle over clean energy has literally been fought, in part, in my backyard. I am very passionate about clean energy sources, and I am going down not just to represent Tufts and petition for more responsible energy policy in general, but also to petition my Representative, Delahunt, to support the Cape Wind project (A large wind farm, to be constructed in Nantucket Sound).
The conference starts next Friday, with workshops and stuff going on Saturday and Sunday, and finally a huge rally and lobbying session on Monday, so stay tuned to meet more members of the crew and see what we've been up to!
Bye for now,
Matt McGowen
